For sale is a 1934 Martin R-18 Archtop in a beautiful aged sunburst finish, all-original with original chipboard case. Serial number 58012. It is rare to find these 1930s-era Martins that have aged this favorably. Solid mahogany back and sides, carved spruce top, rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Aside from the obvious face marks, this instrument is in wonderful condition structurally with minimal fretwear, healthy neck shape and arch. It has a smoky and dynamic voice that is suitable for a variety of playing styles with easy playability. The vintage fretwire is in good shape with minor wear. It has not seen any large repairs or modifications over the years and is as timeless and and enjoyable as the day it left the luthier's hands. It is rare to see a prewar Martin anything at a relatively accessible pricepoint.
