All lightweight koa (body and neck) hardtail Carvin Bolt from 2011. Plays flawlessly, sounds great.
The wood is a really nice open pore finish. I was planning to modify it with different electronics but honestly it plays and sounds so well I don't want to mess with the thing.
The pickups are S60A Alnico V, which are meant to be 60s vintage style but to my ear have more of a little more hi-fi flavor than my strat. It has a switch for the bridge pickup so you have all pickup switching possibilities available.
The heel is sculpted (like the Fender Ultra series) so it plays great all the way up the neck.
The previous seller and a local woodworker have both advised me that the body and neck are koa. Although I can’t confirm with 100% certainty that this is the case, it appears to be koa to me. The price has been modified to reflect this lack of 100% certainty.
