This is the most resonant acoustic guitar I’ve ever played. The bass tones just ring out, no dead spots. Perhaps because of the rosewood back & sides, and the French polish which is a thinner polish that can contribute to a more open tone. It has a nice crispness to the trebles.
This is an old style constructed guitar, so in tradition there is no truss rod. The fingerboard does have a bit of normal relief that follows the curvature of a vibrating strings. I cannot detect any buzzing up & down the fingerboard, unless playing extremely loud of course. It was just set-up by a guitar tech who specializes in classical guitars. A new nut was installed and the saddle height was adjusted. It currently has a medium action, about 3/16” at the 12th fret. I am told that this is more of a classical kind of action. The bridge saddle is already quite low already but you might be able to go another 1/32” lower if that’s what you prefer. The nut width is 2-1/16”. And the scale length is 26”.
This is the ”Luthier“ model which is the top level, and number 16 handmade by Juan Hernandez. And has a very unique green stripe all around the sides and back of the guitar which make it a rare find, which you will probably not see another like it again.
Cosmetically, some normal player’s wear light scratches on the top to the polish (not down to the wood). See pics. Scratches are not very noticeable unless looking very closely.
Comes with a premium quality semi-hard lightweight case from French company BAM, which cost $350 to buy new.
Originally purchased for $6200, about 8 years ago so I am selling it for quite a bit less. But I would like to find it a new owner to appreciate this hand crafted instrument since I am a bass player and only play guitar now and then casually. Let me know if you have any other questions.
